Defying Gender Divides: Trailblazers of the Women's and Children's Hospital
Historically, the practice of medicine was considered a masculine endeavour, while nursing and midwifery were regarded as feminine pursuits. This exhibition uncovers stories of some key men and women who worked at or trained at the former Adelaide Children’s Hospital and Queen Victoria Hospital and played a part in challenging these societal rules in order to pursue careers in their chosen fields, regardless of their gender. Curated by Tori Delany and presented by the Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation Arts in Health program in collaboration with the Women's and Children's Health Network.
