Greek Australian Women’s Love Poetry: A Secret History

Konstandina Dounis from La Trobe University will unravel the various facets of love, romantic and otherwise of Greek Australian women’s experiences as revealed in the colourful tapestry of poetry and prose emanating from first-, second- and third-generation women. Many of their stories are absent from mainstream Australian histories within the Greek Diaspora, however, Greek-Australian women’s literary writings entail a rich wealth of information on a seemingly endless array of topics. Konstandina Dounis’ meticulous research will reveal the stories of these remarkable women as surprising as they are deeply moving. Come and share your stories and enjoy some coffee and cake.
