Behind the Doors
Glandore Community Centre is filled with history from the many children who passed through its doors. Built as a girl’s reformatory in 1890, it has served as an industrial school, children’s home, boys home, Aboriginal school and more. Today it trades as a welcoming community hub and opens its doors so you can explore. View site plans, news articles and photos, hear stories from the children and tour the buildings and grounds. Take the journey with us from girl’s reformatory to Community Centre and see just how this site has been transformed.
