Big Family Weekend & Sorry Day Weaving Workshops

Basket weaving workshop with Aunty Janice (Aunty Janice)

Cultural sharing workshops: In these two hour weaving workshops, targeted to 10-18 year olds, join Aunty Janice Rigney and Aunty Lorna Collinson who will teach young people how to start to weave a small basket.

Janice says: ‘I like to weave because it's relaxing and a way to communicate with other people and cultures. It’s a chance to hand down the culture to future generations. For example I teach my granddaughters just like my grandmother taught me to keep the culture alive.’

As part of the DreamBIG Children's Festival and Sorry Day. No weaving experience necessary.
