Changing Places: Norwood through the Lens of Italo Vardaro
The gifted photographer Italo Vardaro migrated to Norwood in 1956 along with many other Italian families. His attachment to place, is captured through the camera's lens – where single-fronted cottages, furling patterns of wrought iron and memories of childhood are juxtaposed against a rapidly changing world recording the new and the replaced. His lens lingers over the enduring details of daily life where he uses shadow and light to document a passing world. This beautiful exhibition will be on show through out May in the Long Gallery adjacent 3D Radio at the new St Peters Town Hall Complex.
