Talking History with People with Dementia Using Historical Objects

Talking History - grandma and grandson share memories together

Hear from experts Pauline Cockrill, Community History Officer, History Trust of SA; and Jodie Roberts, Dementia Consultant, ACH Group.

Learn how to use reminiscence and historical objects to spark memories and encourage conversation for people with dementia. Find out how to create a memory box, practise conversational skills and learn techniques for sharing and creating memories together. Young and old are welcome; these are skills that anyone can use with their friends, relatives, community members or when working with people with dementia. You can bring your own object with you or find new ones at the Discovery Centre.
