Walking into History

Melrose Street, Mount Pleasant (Collection MPDHRG)

Mount Pleasant is opening its doors with the now private residence of the state heritage-listed former police station showcasing the library, cells and grounds. Further along the main street is the two-storey Melrose House, built as a bank, around the internal strongroom, and today a private residence. The Soldiers' Memorial Hall, built in the Art Deco style, is a popular community venue and central to the town.

Take a stroll under the autumn tones of the plane trees lining the main street and spend the afternoon in our beautiful rural environment visiting the private venues open for this occasion.
