Woven in Friendship

Quilt by Jenny Jager (Bev Bills)

The Handspinners & Weavers Guild is celebrating 56 years, founded in 1963. Weavers and Spinners share their skills. A group of weavers took up the challenge to weave 20 squares, each design different, with the same warp, with varying colours in the weft. This exhibition indicates the skills and friendship of these weavers. Weaving, an age old craft, where items of clothing, manchester such as quilts, were once woven in need. Centuries later weavers create, explore weave structures, colour, texture and spin yarns for projects. Weaving offers no boundaries. A creative, achievable craft in so many different ways.
