SA was the first place in the world to enable women to become members of parliament as a result of their struggle to obtain the vote. We'll explore the context, the men, women and organisations involved, their aims and challenges and the flow on effects of this significant social reform. You'll hear about local activists as well as prominent suffrage leaders such as Reverend Kirby, Sir Edward C Stirling, Mary Lee and Lady Mary Colton.
