The Evolution of Leigh Street

Experience the unique history of Leigh Street: where Adelaide’s colonial past provides a backdrop for one of the city’s busiest pedestrian streets.

Labelled one of Adelaide’s best laneways, Leigh Street features some of the city’s best preserved character buildings, serving as precious artefacts and an ideal venue for South Australia’s 2019 History Festival.

The Evolution of Leigh Street showcases a collection of photographs, artefacts and stories that have contributed the rich tapestry of Adelaide. The exhibition is housed at the Office for Design and Architecture SA, a beautifully maintained heritage building with a modern gallery overlooking the street.
