In the past as to-day music is an integral part of people's lives. Salisbury had many bands and soloists who added to the richness of the life of Salisbury. The first female Doctorate of Music in Australia was born in Salisbury. Doctor Ruby Davy taught music from her teenage years to many Salisbury and local people. Her legacy is that many of the musicians and music teachers in South Australia can trace their training and careers back to her.
