Gert by Sea: The Bay Gay History Walk

Dr Gertrude Glossip goes Bayside (Will Sergeant)

Holdfast! Buoy ahoy! Back by popular demand. Following her Feast triumph for the Lifesaving World Championships Adelaide 2018, Dr Gertrude Glossip, PhD (Formal Drapery) Curtain University, returns to Glenelg (Pathawilyangga to the traditional owners, the Kaurna people). Gertrude wends her way from Moseley Square via 'highway and by-way' back to the beachfront with topics and tales as diverse as early drag frolics in Colley Reserve, sports, early 'camp' parties, seafront encounters, gay liberation festivities in Town Hall, religion, architecture and urban development. Learn how Jetty Road could have become the route for Feast Pride marches! Always factual, fun and informative!
