Celebrating 25 Years Since the Centenary of Waikerie Settlement

Waikerie Street Parade, 1994 (The Waikerie District Historical Society)

25 Years ago, Waikerie celebrated its centenary of settlement with a street parade and re-enactment of the first landing of settlers at the riverfront. Governor of South Australia, Dame Roma Mitchell officiated at the event. There was also a year-long community competition the 'Crusta Cup' which included sports events, amateur theatre, cooking and quiz competitions. Come and see video footage of the street parade and riverfront activities, photos and memorabilia of these events when the community got together to remember its history and celebrate living together in Waikerie.
