Luhrs Cottage Museum (Luhrs Cottage Museum)

Luhrs Cottage, a c. 1850 pug and straw dwelling, was built by JH Luhrs, the first teacher in Light Pass. Wander through the four-roomed cottage, restored in 1984 by a group of local residents, and view the display of historical German artefacts. Behind the cottage is a kitchen which has brick bake oven. This building, now known as the Schoolroom, showcases a large display of German books and teaching aids, German bibles, toys and baptism certificates. In the cellar you will find butter making equipment along with a Wurst machine.
