My name is Yamini Dave, a student from the University of Adelaide and I attended the ‘Beyond the Boundary: Historic Adelaide Oval and Surrounds’ guided tour on the 31st May. Below is my personal review of the event.

The tour guides were professional, knowledgeable and extremely articulate. This tour provided me with an insight into the history as well as the current story of the Adelaide Oval which I would not have experienced had I just inspected the grounds by myself. Access to the historic scoreboard was the real highlight as it showed just how much effort is still required to provide the scoring when a cricket match is being played.

This tour also provided me with an opportunity to access admission into the famed Bradman Museum. This was an enriching experience because, being a cricket fan, I was able to get to know more about some of Australia’s greatest cricketers. Having said that, you certainly do not have to be a cricket fan for you to gain the same experience - the visit to Bradman Museum also provided me with an insight into life in Australia during the early 1990s.

I would definitely recommend this tour to locals as well as overseas/interstate visitors. I loved the way the tour was organised. I think it is a must visit experience.
